WELSH
Ryan Patrick Welsh (he/him) is a screenwriter and director who makes character driven stories focused on the human condition. His films feature rich dialogue, compelling characters, powerful visuals, and relatable stories. He holds a Master of Fine Arts in Acting from UC Irvine and has been working professionally for over fifteen years. He starred as a series regular for two seasons in the the Lionsgate comedy series “Bite Me.” In addition to his many on screen credits, he has continued to perform on stage with Equity theaters around the country.
Ryan started writing and directing back in 2012 with the award-winning short film “This Is Normal”. Since then he has written and directed a dozen other films, most of which earning acclaim on the festival circuit.
His debut feature film - a touching coming-of-age tale called “When We Get There” - starring Alfred Molina, Mindy Sterling, and William Katt along with fresh talents Alex Kristopher, Chris Heeder, and Jamie Lien - was released in March of 2026.
“Last of the Wild Buffalo” marks Welsh’s second feature, and continues his tradition of telling deeply moving stories that challenge and inspire.
